idle air control is messed up, they are completely made of rubbish materials and fail all the time, 9 out of 10 IAC valves from anywhere including GM are defective out of the box, best bet is a used one from a junkyard car, it's what i had to use because there wasn't a good one in town, even the ACDelco ones were locked up, i had a known good one in my toolbox that i ended up using... but now i have to find another for diagnostics:icon_cry:

 

Alrighty thanks, maybe ill try another iac, the depressing part is that it ran fine before i tore it apart. As they say, if its not broken, DONT FIX IT lol

 

Try unplugging the battery again and trying to start with battery disconnected.
Then reconnect the battery and try again.
Prob just need to clear pcm of learned values.
Either that or there is a vacuum line unhooked somewhere i'm betting.
Don't replace anything cause you think it could be bad maybe.

 

Does the idle come down if you unplug the IAC with it running?

 

I unplugged the battery today, just put the negative terminal back in, did a cold start of about 2600 rpms. It remains at about 2600 and slowly creeps higher. I also unplugged the iac while it was running and the rpms did not change. Hmmm

 

Vacuum leak of some sort or damaged IAC. Can you remove the IAC and cover up port post throttle body and run the car? Trying to figure out if the problem is with or around the IAC or you have gotten a vaccum leak elsewhere.
