I think the most you want to run the timing up to on race gas and some coated pistons is around 26*...
As far as boost goes, it really depends on what power adder you have. On a gen 3 somewhere between 11-13 psi non-intercooled works the best and probably add 2-3 psi for an intercooled gen 3.
With the Gen V, it's anybody's guess as to what the limits are...people are pushing a lot of boost non-intercooled with it.
