I have an opertunity to swab rims with a Impala SS Indy edition with my rims. My tire size is 225 /60 r16 and the impala is 235 /55r17. Will I have any rubbing problems on my Monte Carlo since the impalas tires a 10 mm wider? Has anyone does something like this?
The first thing that popped up for me is tire balance..... Another thing that will happen when you switch is the speedometer will be reading will be off. Best check the tire circumference from the old to new tires. This will change the speedo reading........ Good luck.....mr goodwrench

Very old post, I'm sure he got it figured out. (I know the website seems to promote old posts from years ago?)

For reference, there's a bunch of online calculators to make it simple. I like to use this simple one: https://tiresize.com/calculator/

That 235-55-17 is not optimal (2.3% bigger), but will work OK until you make adjustments. I run 245-50-17's for my swapped 99-04 Mustang GT Bullitts, which match to 225-60-16's perfectly.
