Unlike 86 GN ones like you have pictures there, we're able to flash any changes required thru the OBD2 port using one of a few cables and software that have been on the market in the last 20yrs (in order of popularity: HPTuners, DHP PowrTuner, EFILive, TunerCats/Jet, Hypertech, etc.).

Dismantling the board isn't a necessity like the old prom chip days, aside from a handful of folks who did some deep dives for curiosity and research.

I was thinking along the lines of what effect one set of modified data would have on another set. Sort of like the early "attack" and "decay" mods that effectively manage knock retard, while delivering more HP. Or, modifying the limp-mode values to correspond to larger injectors, etc.

Just thinking out loud, reminiscent of the early hacker tricks.

We have the ability to modify those in tables for OBD2 platforms. I'm not at my laptop, but we have access to those settings for sensitivity, decay, max degrees, and so on. These have been pretty well mapped, and members have even built tools like TinyTuner to offer even more than the basics initially out there. It's light-years ahead of the 80's methods, although there's certainly room to improve when going to a full stand-alone like Holley, FuelTech, Haltech, etc.
