Is it easier to drop the tranny out the bottom or pull the whole engine trans as one peace to do a tranny swap?

If you have a lift, drop it from the bottom. Support the motor, unbolt the bell housing drop the cradel an there you have it...Skipping the boring details. ;)

and if i dont have a lift i am guessing out the top is the best way to go.. In that case i guess i am going to have to pull the motor again.. It will be 2 times in 2 months.... first the motor now the trans... i knew i should have done it all at once..

If you've done it once the second time is a peice of cake. ;)

And as Ed and I know from experience, third time is the charm.

IIRC the GP's don't have a cradle that splits. And it lacks a body attached engine mount to help keep it in place when the cradle is out. Think I'd pull it out the top.
