Hello everyone!

My Hydra-Matic 4T65-E needs rebuilt. I'm considering some upgrades to the transaxle while its out. I'm considering putting in a 2500 or 3000 RPM Stall convertor from ZZP in so it could be ready for future improvements. Top Swap, L67 Engine swap or etc.

In the meantime I'd like to go forward with a higher stall than stock on my L36 N/A Engine. I've not found any other discussion on the matter in the forums. Could I rebuild my trans axle with a mild shift kit and a higher stall convertor and still have decent daily drivability?

Thank you in advance for your time and consideration.

Best,

Absolutely. I have a 3K ZZP in mine, and it's not even noticable.

I had my local tranmission shop rebuild my 4T65-E Transmission with mild shift kit and the zzp stall convertor. My transmission shop guy says it doesnt feel like a 3000 Stall convertor. I'm using the PCM 1.0 and 3000 Stall convertor both from zzp. Do I need to modify the shift points in my pcm? Is it possible zzp sent the wrong convertor? The box clearly says 3000 Stall convertor. Has anyone had anything similar?

Thanks everyone!!
