On a holiday weekend, Johnson Valley becomes it's own town. Anything offroading is found here. I've seen offroad toys costing more than my cars. It's crazy.
Well, some boys are serious about their toys. That friend of mine got this Honda Pioneer 1000 and he's been upgrading it more than his daily. He ordered a new set of tires and brake pads from 4 Wheelonline and led light bars will be the next mod.

Ain't that the truth. I completely understand. I spend more money than I should on my GP and my '69 GMC. For my GMC, I rebuilt the 350 with upgrades. Disk brake upgrades. Full frame-off restoration. And my GP, best stuff to keep her running. And my wife is all into Jeeps and 4-wheeling. Whatever upgrades to get further down the trail and up the hill. Lockers; ✔
best tires; ✔ extra lights; ✔
Etc, etc, etc.
The cool thing about having a spouse who's into anything on 4 wheels with a motor, makes it easy to buy parts upgrades. I think she had put in more time restoring the '69 than I have. 😆
The thing with any hobby, it never ends.

I had some good times over there in my GTP, on the other NV side, like a 15 minute dirt road drive from Stoplight, NV. Primitive free campsite with good kiteboarding action. 10 minute drive to nearest bathroom. Coyotes and wolves prowling at night. Good times.

Sorry I misquoted the name. Searchlight NV, it's a real small town, a main road goes east out of there to Lake Mojave, you can't miss it, on your Google maps or what have you. I forgot the name, the main road goes due East to Cottonwood Cove, but what you want to do it take a right fork on the dirt road, about halfway there, gets you to Six Mile Cove, where there's no buildings or anything. You'll know you're there if you see expert kiteboarders catching major thermals and possibly getting launched 50 ft in the air, like I did when younger and stronger. It's a great spot, beautiful. There was this one dude who smoked weed and put a searchlight on the front of his board, kiteboarding at night. I was up for hours making sure he didn't drown. Like I said, good times.... OK I'm editing, there is an actual restroom building there if I recall. Don't quote me on that.
