fuel system too lean (according to the front o2 sensor)

if you have an afc.. it could be set too low
if you dont.. it could be several things... such as fuel regulator, fuel filter, injecters... ect.

could it have anything to do with the fact that i dont have the throttel body screen in? i checked for vac leaks and they are all fine.

what is your IAC?.. that will give you a hint... if you check your IAC when its warm... with the screen in and with it out...

if your IAC is low.. it could be a false reading from the maf that tricks the computer into leaning out...

I got the same code. It took a new MAF Sensor to fix it.

thats basically what i was thinking too, because the fuel pressure is just fine and i dont think i have any vac leaks. im gonna check that tonight

it's because you removed the screen. you probably have a 98? well, i paid 30 for a new one and the code went off. i did notice better throttle response with it off, but i had to pass illinois emissions, so putting it back on was pertinant.
