Hey Dave,. Well it used to be a police interceptor..got a engine rebuild..piston work, cold air intake, light weight flywheel, muffler mute, multiple color neon inside and out, headders on the way. She runs great for over 250,000. Over heating often, looking into the fix soon. Lol. What do you think I should do. I like input on those things. Around the Memphis area.
I only know of Impala's that were police packages, but I guess a department could use anything to look normal (kinda shady, but we see how they do).
Most times it's the intake manifold gaskets that leak coolant, and cause the system to work poorly as it has less coolant volume and pressure. I'd consider that project to get the aluminum replacement gaskets, if you haven't already, and check the plastic elbows under the alternator tensioner as well. There's aluminum replacements for those as well, just be sure to get a good seal on the o-ring's.
