Milling the valve spring seats

Before I decide to buy : valve springs, retainers, valve locks and valves. Just wanted to know much you can safely milling the valve spring seats. I don't know much metal(meat) the cylinder heads have in that area. Thinking of milling between 060" - .100 " deep. These heads were never machine before ( completely stock ). The valve spring I am interested in is a Comp Cams 26915 with 1.800" installed height. The head is late 1998, and the casting number is 8134. There are many different valve spring retainers and valve lock heights ( -.050 , Std. , +.050 ). That being said, what is the maximum amount you can mill the valve spring seat? Trying to prevent valve spring pocket cranking or going to far cutting into the coolant jacket area.

I know it's a loaded question but someone must know if they machine valve spring seats on3800 cylinder heads.

Thanks, Bernie

That is a very standard install height, and mainly used for the advertised seat pressure uncompressed at install. Not really a need to get overcomplicated and dig into the head. I'd focus on getting things together, and doing some mock-up and geometry measurements prior to final assembly on the engine.

I'll be putting together a video of doing this on 1 or 2 of my engines, as I have to upgrade my turbo car's valvetrain some (standard components used), and reassembling a very custom set for my MP112 engine that is an excuse to get into the numbers (T&D rockers, etc.).
