Hi,

New to this board, first like to say Hi.

Question about the intense pcm's stage1 and higher allow for higher rev points for shifting, this might be a basic question, but isnt this redlining your engine = bad. I know these pcm require like new cam, etc..., does changing to a higher profile cam allow for higher shift points and higher redlining, cuz i though redlining was constant and depended on the engine design itself?

Any thoughts will help on this.

Sincerely,

Scott.

With an upgraded valvetrain your 'redline' gets moved much higher up. For example, I use a Stage 3 cam, and 130lb springs and all the other goodies. Which allows me to have 6800rpm shiftpoints and a 7000 rpm 'redline'.

So what do you upgrade with a cam?

Hi,

Thanks for the input.

So when changing out a cam, I know changing out the springs, retainers are needed, even changing out the lifters, locks, timing chain. Anything else?

Is there any advantage to changing to lighter pushrods?

Thanks in advance.

Sincerely,

Scott.
