When installing a cam and timing chain is there a gasket for the front of the engine needed that isn't provided in the Cam install kit?

Should be the timing chain cover gasket. Should be a large horsehoe shape.

You may not have to replace it, I left mine on MANY times.

YEah you should have gotten that in yoru kit unless otherwise stated. What kit did you get?

I have purchased the cam kit but wasn't sure what was what. I got a quote for the cam install from my mechanic and he had front engine gasket on there. Was wondering if that was in the kit.
