If I'm changing the belt that is connected to my alternator (not the supercharger belt) is there anything I need to watch out for. One of my buddies told me to watch out because this might control the timing, and when the belt is replaced, none of the pulleys in that system can move at all, is this true???

I think your "buddy" confused the accessory belt with the timing belt, which our engines don't have.
