Cam + 1.7 questions

Intake Lift .317" (.507" lift at 1.6:1 rocker ratio)
Exhaust Lift .317" (.507" lift at 1.6:1 rocker ratio)
113 Lobe Separation

With these specs above on a SC application, would someone suggest if 1.7 should be put to the intake or exhaust side or both?

Now running the risky question, with the 1.7 + the cam above be safely run with 90# springs?

that's going to give 0.5389" of lift with the rockers at 1.7:1
I'd say 105# springs should be used. People say 105# springs are good for .540" of lift.
At least that is the recomended spring for the S1 cam and 1.75 rockers IIRC (i have it !)

I'd run them on both sides with the larger springs IMO
i'm sure someone else will confirm/shoot me down with a better reason
along the lines of cam+1.7's........

What kind of headwork if any needs to be done in order to run 1.7's with a S1X cam? Would it be worth it? Or what kind of work in general needs to be done?
I believe your going to be too close for comfort running an S1X cam with 1.7:1 rockers and stock heads. And if your going to get head work done to accomodate the 1.7 rockers why don't you get the head work and run a bigger cam? I don't think the power increase going from 1.6:1 To 1.7:1 rockers will be remotly worth the price of the head work. You should be running 105# valve springs with a cam.

You'd need the valve guides milled down to accomodate the extra lift.

Would it be worth it?
Probably not unless you also had the heads at least 'cleaned up' some.
