I’ve got a 92 park Avenue I swapped a new 3.8 motor into. I’ve been driving the car for a little over a month now and it’s been shredding belts. I’ve gone through 2 so far. The belt starts to slip off the back of the crank pulley only by one rib. It never falls off fully just goes till it shreds. The powersteering pulley and box are out of alignment somehow looks crooked and when I use a straight edge it’s off by a ways. I installed a new belt tensioner and bracket hoping it would help but hasn’t. I’ve tried shimming the powersteering pump to where it’s damn near perfect with everything else and I still have the issue. Any help would be phenomenal this is starting to become a pita.

It's hard to believe that an accessory could seize up without a big squeel but could say your AC compressor be locked up and when the clutch is energized the belt slips and jumps off track. I know it's winter, but I think the AC compressor can kick on with the defrosters.

Gotcha I will take a look at that. I know the AC pulley free spins but not sure when the clutch is engaged. Also if I put the belt on properly with no heat or ac on or blowing as soon as it cranks it slips off.
