Backpressure

Am I hurting my performance by not haveing any mufflers, no u-bend, no-res?
I was thinking about picking up a racing muffler?

I also have TOGS with a 3" DP.

Thanks
Steven

dude, how loud is your shi*? i was thinking about taking off the resonator, but am afraid it will be too loud.
I would say no, the TOG's and 3" DP, definately remove more backpressure than having no mufflers, I would say you have enough with an exhaust system that bends in the stock spots. As for me I have PEM's 2.5" No Cat DP, ubend delete, no res, and a 3" Twister Race muffler, and a dump that dumps right around the middle of the back seat. I might have as much backpressure as you do, and I dont think I have lost too much low end to do anything about it. Cabin noise is a bitch though, made me buy two 12's lol

LOUD!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Even my LS1 friends who have monster cams and cut-outs all think my car is louder then theirs..

The only thing I dont like is ever since I put on the TOGs, in the upper RPM's it gets really raspy. But I pretty much used to it now..
Ive got my QTP cutout on the Downpipe and I can definatly tell a loss in low end HP with the cutout open, but from my track times i can tell a slight increast in MPH. There are certinly advantage and disadvantages in this situation. I found that i run the best times with my cutout closed off the line and as soon as i hit WOT (60 ft) i open the cutout, this ends up getting me an extra .1-.15 or so in the 1/4 mile.

Not sure how far you've gone with your exhaust thus far, but when I did mine originally I left the res in for fear of horrific sounds. But after I got sick of the tame/lame sound I hauled it out, and I didn't really notice a huge difference, however it did get raspier, but in a good way. :D

I'm still awaiting the Weather to clear up so I can get the car to storage for the winter, but on the way I plan to get some pics and hopefully sound of my exhaust so I can post it here. There's a few guys that were interested, but the WX has dampened my road-worthiness,,, if you know what i'm sayin'. :(
yeah, i took off the y pipe now, and still have the res...only one pipe out the pass. side. i am getting the dp next summer, then i'll probably yank the res.
