Should work great. Not sure what the difference is between the marine and auto motors though.

Same exact engine with the transmission functionality and some sensors disabled.. You just need the adapter to connect up to the drive. There's a company over seas that sells the setup at a ridiculous price.

Google "Mercruiser", they run the 3.8liter in some applications and also offer rebuild on the engines. And, they are actually domestic in Wisconsin and plants throughout the U.S.

i know they use to put the 3.8 in boats years ago but havent seen any thing in the states on the 3800, going with an ls rather than the 3800, little easyer on finding parts
