Hello I'm Mark ,
Recently received a 1994 Buick Regal GS Coupe as a gift . Was wondering what type 3800 is in this model and what all performance up grades can I do to the motor and tranny ? An how if any can I swap to a L67 or L36 setup ?

That's going to be the Series I 3800 (L27) with a 4T60e transmission. Upgrades would be fairly sparse, compared to a Series 2 or 3.

You can definitely tackle a swap to a newer 3800 model, if you had the time and resources. The 1996 car even came with an L36, if you wanted to track down a plug-n-play wiring harness. I did a similar swap in a 1995 Riviera briefly, using a 1998-99 harness/computer (chassis was not great, so it got tossed).

Otherwise, keep the car running clean, and enjoy it as-is.
