car will not start in morning, but will in afternoon

alright i have a 98 fireturd. the car will run fine granted it starts no miss's or stalls. but when i park for the night and get up for work, the car will not start.
so i go to work come home and with out doing anything the car will start RIGHT UP. its been doing this for about a month. perfict running car, if it starts. when it dont if i crank it over just a sec the car will stumbul and back fire.
i have been thro all the grounds, even took the uper intake off to get a clear look. replaced coils, icm even tho it waz good. plugs and wires are new to.
anyways, is it possib the pcm is to blame. im at my whits end with this 3800. i have owned 7m turbo supra and i help friends alot with ther car probs. i cant figer this prob out.

be for i run on to much, im just looking for some input from ya tuners. i have yet to take the pcm in to test, but i have done so to icm and was fine. fuel psi norm, everythings getting power. and yet it completly random starts.

I do not know if you were able to pull any codes. If your fuel pressure regulator is good, and you said you have checked fuel pressure, I am thinking that you may possibly have a failing Cam sensor . I have not seen your problem before, but either way, read this article very carefully. It may help you... good luck

i was gonna say cam sensor as well, the extension harness that runs down to the cam and crank sensors can get chaffed and temperamental once in a while, usually the vibrations shake the harness a little when you start but when the wires are cold they are stiffer so if say the either cam or crank signal wire was shorting to the block the car will not start... just throwing one possibility out there.

don't give up on that 3800 just yet they really are a simple reliable engine, but it really helps to have a real scantool at your disposal to speed up diagnosis exponentially

also, don't ever use crimps on low voltage sensors, solder and heat shrink tubing only, that is probably the issue

Crimp connectors will not hold up in the engine bay. I had a fun time chasing down circuits, only to find out that the crimps became weak or were slightly corroded. I had a hard time even when troubleshooting the HID's for the fog lamps. A very experienced Pontiac trans mechanic told me to never use crimp connectors except in the interior because of corrosion.

Sensor circuits with hall effect switching are very susceptible to flaking out with variation of input voltage.

wouldn't worry about that they are very low amperage circuits
