I need a VS cam. Save the trouble of posting it for sale and sell it to me. Thanks

Your S1X cam is tempting. But honestly, I was looking at the VS because I wanted to use all stock parts on the heads and what not. I also wanted to keep the shift points at no higher than 6000 and ZZP seems to say the powerband peaks around that point. So, do you think I could do that with the S1X and still maintain a happy medium? I'd really rather not have to upgrade my springs to get decent power. Ya know? What's your expert opinion on that?

To be honest, if you're going to go through all the labor and gasket replacements of changing a cam out you might as well put a cam in it that is going to make some decent power and have the ability to grow with your mods. It won't take that much more to put some stronger springs and install a stronger timing set. The last thing I think you want to do is go through all that and then wish you had some more power later on and have to go through it all again to upgrade.
The stage 1x has made up to 399whp so it is good for most any other mod you want to through in along with it.

Well you see I'm only shooting for 300 WHP. I just want to keep my car simple yet powerful at the same time. A cam would be the very last thing I would do. I have over 183,000 on a stock transmission and I don't want to break it, lol.

If that is truly your concern, you might as well keep it stock. The trannies are the weak point on these cars and any mods at all are just going to help it fail that much sooner.

I agree, any cam will put your tranny in jeopardy, especially with 183k. I have ridden in more than one VS cammed cars and they pull really nice throughout the RPM range. If you sure you never want more than 300HP then it will do fine. Keep in mind 2 years ago when I did my rockers I was never going to do a cam, and I just bought an S1X. Im still on my first tranny, but in the next few months I am sure I will be do for an upgrade.

I am very happy with my choice of the s1x blower cam. I made 309hp/370tq non intercooled and stock heads. Just headers and 1.6 roller rockers. Although I did it on e85.

Well my car is well beyond being stock and I feel my transmission is fine. But the point is why get a cam that not only has such a high powerband and includes the potential to be more powerful than what I desire. I feel the VS cam is the last thing I wish to have.
