i know ive seen a thread before on using gear oil for the supercharger( cant find it now ) , just curious to what you guys use when changing the SC oil? GM oil or something diff? thanks!

yeah seems most use the GM oil but i have read a few threads of guys running gear oil. even seen some guys use reg 5w 30 motor oil , i know royal purple makes a good synthetic gear oil but i guess ill just use the regular S/c oil when i change the coupler next week..

zzp sells a bottle that is supposedly the 8oz or 10oz(whatever it is that you need for proper fill) for $10 versus two GM bottles at $12 bucks a shot(around here). Its the exact same as the GM stuff they say so i ordered a bottle of it while ordering my engine gasket kit and head bolts

I have used 10W30 motor oil for more than 50k miles. Now I use ATF with an external expansion tank and improved lubrication to the front snout bearing. Works fine. There is nothing special about the gears, bearings or seals of the SC. The ATF does clean it better.
