3800 87 Pontiac GP?

Ok guys its been a while for me (school and 4 months on a vessel). I was planing on puting one of these engines in a Celica but it fell through. Then I ended up doing my first engine swap..and something most others havent tried! I put a JDM turbo engine in a 94 Prizm. I love it, it is turn key, fast, and gets great gas milage.

Now I have fallen into a simular situation as with the Prizm. I have the car (87 Grand Prix RWD) and can get the engine for a good price (if its still there). I was going to put a 1966 389ci Pontiac engine in but I love the idea of EFI and the light weight of the 3800.

Now For the question that comes to mind.

1. The donor car is a newer car and most likely drive by wire and that whole security thing. will this cause a problem.......note I can wire. Also I cant remember if the intake can be flipped or not...the Buick is about a 2000+ model year.

This is all I have right off the top of my head so let me know what you all think.

Thanks in advance!!

Robert

Below is a link to my homepage of the L67 swap into my 86 Cutlass which is the same chassis as an 87 grand prix. It started as a 96 firebird 3800/auto arrangement and progressed into the L67 swap. Drive by wire wont be a concern until you get to around 2004+ engines and one less headache to worry about. 99+ 3800 f-body cars use drive by wire so using an 97-98 pcm makes the swap easier. A lot of custom tuning will have to be done. For security bypassing I built a bypass module off of a schematic I found years back to feed the pcm the proper signal to keep it happy but now tuning should be able to get you around that.
