Gidday fellow V6's,
I'm hoping one of you guys can help me ?
I need to know if any of you who have a L36 RWD with a manual gearbox / flywheel have ever found a ARP bolt part number and suppiler for the flywheel mounting bolts ?
As per pic provided.
Cheers
Deek

Sorry to bring an old post back up, but I feel that someone like me might find it useful. I also tried using the GM flywheel bolts and they seem VERY weak. I believe torque is 15ft.lbs.+90 degrees. They just didn't seem to tighten up. I used a 9" ratchet and the damn bolts just started streching like they were made of teflon. They cost $4.25 a piece and I had to buy 10(they come in a bag of 5) of them OUCH!!!
So I just ordered a set from summit- $14.something for a set of 5 ($40 altogether with shipping cost) but 170 000PSI tensile strength sounds good.
PN ARP-651-1750 for 12 point and ARP-641-1750 for hex.

Hi Miko,
Can you tell me what size those bolts are ? Length and thread size ?
The Aussie version had a couple of different flywheel possibilities and bolt lengths.
So would be good to know what sizes those part numbers relate to.
Cheers
Deek

These are the 5/16, 18TPI, 1.750" length, summitracing only has the 1.750" and the next size up is 2.00", but 1.750" is very close to the factory 1.770" (45mm). Hopefully INTENSE (hello, look here) will stock these in the future, so people don't have to buy 10 when they need only 8, as they allready offer the flexplate bolts.

Thanks Miko,
It took some time but thats exactly what I was looking for in the ARP range.
The right part number (I even contacted ARP direct but still no success) for that size and length bolt (45mm).
Tell me Miko does your set up run a dual mass flywheel with pressure/clutch plates ? As thats what the later V6 series II GM Holdens ended up with.
Cheers

No, it's a single mass flywheel that I had thinned out to .693" and rebalanced so it fits my FWD transmission.

Ok but 45mm long bolts seem a little long for a single mass flywheel. Although I never seen a FWD flywheel to know how much difference there is from a RWD flywheel.

I will receive them tonight and I will check if this is the right length, I will let you know tommorow. At least I can cut them down if they are longer (coolant fed grinder).
