3800 in porsche 924

ok i bought a porsche 924 from my neighbor this summer for a dollar and i gave up on trying to get the 98 hp hunk of crap to run so im up grading to some true american power
my dad is going to give me his 91 park avenue and im goin to put the 3800 out of it into my porsche
my porsche is rwd so i need to figure out how to put attach the 3800 to the porsche transaxle
the set is kinda like how the corvette is the engine in the front then a torque tube then the tranny
ive got the engine out and the bell housing and clutch of the torque tube so now i need to get a new bellhousing and clutch to bolt the on and to the 3800
ive been looking around for which bellhousing to use and i think ive got it
ive got a 85 s10 with a 2.8 v6 and 4spd in it and from what ive found that should be the right bell housing
were do i go from there i figure i will get the flywheel off a camaro
but the clutch is were i find trouble and im not entirely sure the s10 is the rite patern

Make sure the bellhousing you have has a starter pocket on the drivers side or you'll have to slice out a section for starter clearance. Most Camaro bellhousings have a pocket on both sides to fit either the 2.8 or the 3.8. S10's might not be the same (although they have the same pattern).

I agree, sounds like a really cool idea. It sounds like you might have to use some 3800 camaro parts to get it going, but keep us updated!

yea im part of the 924 board and i did the 3800 supercharged in the 924 thread
so far the porsche hasent come very far i dont have that much time to work on it but schools out in 2 days so hopefully ill have more time
im just hopin that the porsche 4spd transaxle will hold up to the 3800 power
the porsche only had 98 horse out of the factory so im goin to be at least doubling that
im not really worried about cutting the bell housing the car is goin to be hacked and welded any way (got to make engine mounts and what not and then body work)

Highly recommend you grab a 944S tranny....no way will the 924 hold power. It will definately break.

ill prolly run the 4spd till it breaks then get the 944 axle
hopefully ill be able to get the thing goin here pretty soon
finally got a job and have some money
i got a ?
the 3800 f-body manuals have a clutch that is 9 5/8 in diameter and 26 splines
the porsche tranny has a 8 1/2 clutch with 24 splines and 13/16 diameter shaft
i cant use the 3800 clutch cause of the splines
im tryin to find a clutch that is close to the same diameter
the closest i can find is a 9 inch
will that be enough or will i need to get one custom made
