Could you convert 99 GTP to RWD?
Is it easily done or is there a lot of BS with it? I'm not sure if I would stick with the 3800 if I did that or not....an LS1 or LS2 would seem so tempting.

It can be done, Chris Hoenle has a GTX that's rear wheel drive. I don't know all of the particulars, but you have to backhalf the chassis which involves a ton of work and also all of the work that has to go in the engine compartment with fabricating mounts and everything else. The amount of work also depends on if you're going to drag the car or if you just want a monster on the street. I'm planning on doing this to my old car (95 Monte Z34) and the suspension and everything for the rearend was going to run around 10k, so it's alot of money.

it would be street for now and maybe like 15 years from now just upgrade it to a track car. Everyone always asks me if the car is RWD and they are surprised to find out that it's not. I wish they were RWD myself cause it's a wide car and also a long car.

Once I get out of school, I plan on buying the G8 which will be RWD V8 . Then my GP now will be my little race car. I can't wait til the G8 comes out.

The G8 was a concept car and it had the LS1 with the Aztek AWD tranny. Only one of them made. the new Grand Prix will have the GTO 6.0L V8 RWD with a 6 speed tranny, car was designed by holden, it mimics the Holden SS-V. Very sharp car.

Brian Teel is the one who wrote the 5-speed write-up. IIRC. If I had the time, money, and a place to do it. I would.
