We took the SSEI to the dyno this week and then to the track. Made
504WHP (and I think it was 600ft TQ give or take, cant recall) on the dyno Wed night. We kept the timing down and the AF tuned conservatively just to be safe and avoid head gasket problems.
Last night we took it to Norwalk for a test and tune. The car beat its previous best of 10.956 on all 4 runs it made. The best ET was a
10.746@122.80 and the second best was
10.750@124.94 I also had several good launches and just missed the all time record for our community with a
1.514. All 4 runs were 1.5X launches. I was off .002 from Scotts #1 ranked launch.
I am having major problem in 3rd gear keeping the belt from melting and sometimes shedding. The MPH was low because I lost the belt at some point in third gear on all but one run. We are running an oversized ATI balancer and a 2.75 pulley on a Kenne Belle Blowzilla supercharger. The belt is getting its A SS whooped and we havent come up with a resolution yet. It is getting so hot that it is tacky like a slick after a burnout. After each pass it either wipes off all the ribs, shreds, or just melts. We will be looking into other methods of resolving this.
I have to publicly thank
INTENSE (Scott, Tim and Todd) for all their hard work getting the car to where it is at. They all put alot of hard work into the car this year and I appreciate that. The car has wanted to run, it just needed a little attention. Now I can have them carve out a COG setup....
It has hard for me to make time for the car this year with a heavy workload, but hopefully I can find some time and chop away at the times over the next few months. The car has ALOT more in it still. I am slowly learning to harness this things torque. lol
4 new records for the car. ET, TRAP, 60', dyno
Here are the slips and a pic of the belts. Todd has some video of the runs also.
