Angry 13's are ruining my life!

Well, I really thought I was going to be able to post the first 13 second pass for my car after thursday night but it slipped through my fingers yet again. I can't even describe how irratated I am right now. I guess I did reset my PB but it is really bittersweet.

My first pass after a 30 min cool down was a 14.13 @ 97 w/ a 2.11 60 foot, the best part of that pass was that DayDay and I got to run so I got a couple of good pics.

My second pass was a 14.22 @ 99 w/ 2.24 60 foot. Spun pretty bad off the line.

My third and final pass was after about an our of cool down time. The outside temp had dropped about 7 degrees. I was stoked that this was going to be the 13 second pass I had been waiting for. I did a little dry hop in the hopes that it may give a little extra traction. It didn't work! I ran a 14.07 @ 99 w/ 2.23 60 foot. I can't even put into words how frustrated I am about not hitting a 13 by 7 hundreths of a second! Oh well, I guess I am forced to wait another week cowering in the shame of still being a 14 second car that should be in the 13's.

What kind of air pressure are you running in the front tires?

Yeah, drop that down some. I ran 17psi in mine and garnered a 2.09 60'.

Wow, I heard of a couple of people running 22 but 17 sounds nutz. Won't hurt anything?

I would not drop them to 17#, the best I found when I was running street tires was 36#.
I know the feeling on the 14s, I sat on a 14.01 for a couple months last summer and it killed me.
Are you scanning? You may be getting a decent amount of KR with that 3.4" which will hurt your times, not to mention the engine.
Good luck with your quest for 13s.

I ran 26 psi when I got the 1.9 60 foot. I also had coilovers though. I would drop it to 26 and then 24 if you really want to...but wouldn't go much further than 22psi. If you get a 2.0 60 foot...your in the 13's

By dropping air pressure we increase traction but also increase drag don't we? My car ran better with more pressure than less. I'm assuming we're just better off getting a good sticky tire and not lowering pressure too much aren't we? The car just feels to heavy and struggles with less air in the tires.

Jeff, keep it up you'll get there man. Enjoy the runs while on your quest to the 13's man.
Good luck.
