Calculating 1/4mile times from 1/8 runs
Hello,
I read on INTENSE-Racing - 3800 Performance Dyno Tech Tips & Tricks that multiplying your time by 1.553 on the 1/8 mile would be a good approximation of your 1/4 mile time. Would that same number also apply to your trap speed as well? Because that would put me doing 16.02 @ 107.17mph Which seems very strange to me for some reason. My 1/8 mile PB is 10.32 and 69.01mph. I wish there was a quarter mile track around here but the closest one to me is in Rockingham, NC which is almost 4 hours away from here. The stock specs for my car is a 16.9 @83mph according to: Buick LeSabre Limited (1997)
With just the exhaust, CAI, and 8.5mm wires I took another (stock) lesabre by over a second 10.32 vs. 11.36 and now I have that plus everything else in my signature (I haven't taken it to the track since adding the HV3 though)
Aside from taking it to Rockingham, is there a better way of determining my 1/4mile stats or am I about right? Thanks.
-Chris

I don't think that works for your trap speed. A 107 mph trap speed is ungodly high for a 16 second run. You would probably be more around 90 or so.

Thats what I figured. I thought that it was way too high too. Is there a way to figure out trap speeds that anyone knows of? Thanks.
