Congratulations to Bob Cook who in one pass managed to take down three 3800 records in his Morad Parts Company donated, INTENSE powered and tuned, B &R Racing fabricated Turbo Grand Prix GT. Bob was able to get three passes in last night at National Trails. The first two were time trial runs and Bob was getting used to the modifications made over the winter.
Unfortunately with all the flying hoods and cars breaking, bracket racing time came all too quickly and so Bob made the decision to turn it up and go for it on his third and final pass as he was eliminated from the brackets.
Bob was unable to get a very good burnout all night long as the car just wouldn't hold still with the new larger 29.5 inch tall front tires overpowering the tiny skinnies on the back. Even with that disadvantage Bob managed to get an incredible 1.388 60' launch on his way to a run of 8.949 @ 157.08 breaking the 1/4 mile MPH record, the GM 3800 Series II/III FWD E.T. record, the overall GM 3800 Series II/III E.T. record and becoming the first GM Series II/III FWD vehicle to break 8 seconds.
Think about all the times we went to the track and couldn't get any traction, or got traction and the tranny wasn't happy with your power level...
Doesn't it feel good when all your hard work pays off?
Very well done! I'm so proud of you Bob.
