My Stage 3 GTP build, fist time at track!
Finally, after a 3 year and 6 month long awaited build my 99GTP goes to the track for first time! My first time ever at the track as well. Need to start learning how to launch the car. Currently on 4.5 year old Goodyear HR ultra Z rated meats. Made total of four runs, here are my first three, my My last one was shameless and not worth mentioning. This is 1/8 mile track at Irwindale California.
1st run, I lauched after my friend in the 03 cobra took off. Didn't even watch the tree.

2nd run Finally realized (after being told) what the tree lights mean LOL.

Hahah Dont worry about the stupid announcers, when Palmdale was still open they kept calling my Monte a Late Model Impala
My friends in the stands couldnt get enough of that.

Yeah I'll need to get to the track early next thursday and get some more practice in. Although my friends told me my tires aren't helping much, but they'll have to do for now until I can afford new ones. I was pleasantly impressed. Have to tune out about 1* of KR.

Well, those 1/8 times should equal out to somewhere around 12.5 in the 1/4 if I'm not mistaken. Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!

congrats on getting the new setup to the track. however you have me very scared about my setup. you can see the list of stuff in my sig that is underway. Last year my pb in the 1/8th was 8.89@79.96mph. I hope i didn't spend all this money not to see at least a 7.99
If my calculations are correct your new setup would put you in the mid 13's in the 1/4.

I wouldn't worry. This was my first time ever to a track so I've got alot to learn about how to drive my car. It's a 4 door GTP with no moonroof and only the spare tire removed. 225/55-16 Goodyear HP Ultra Z rated tires that are more than half worn as well. Ran on 91 octane gas with 13-15* timing.
I'll use race gas and bump up timing next time.

same here in weight reduction. best 60ft was a 2.0 on goodyear eagle rsa. i didn't get a chance to try the new 245/50/17 b.f. goodrich kdw's. so we will see how well they stick. I also have a bone stock tranny and diff. so when i do get it to hook up say bye bye to the imput shaft. ohh well it's only money can't take it with you.
