Cool What you think

what's up people... I'm about ready to start modding up... ... these are the mods I plan on getting... what should i start up wit...

`98 GTP Coupe, 130,000 miles`~should i get a rebuild at all??? No problems so far...

-SLP Headers and full 3" exhaust
-Rocker arms (1.84 ratio)
-Fuel injectors and fuel pump rewire
-ZZP oversize I/c
-Gen V S/c w/ N* t/b
-Pulley
-180 tstat
-maybe stroke it
-which intake (wiz-air or fender intake???)
-maybe a cam (haven't finished my research yet)
-Plus a programmed PCM

Dont steal me set up.... LoL, but what you guys think about that set-up, what could i possibly run in the 1/4??? which intake should i get??? Also, I'm getting ready to be race my boy, WRX (not an STI, will i likely lose running stock vs stock, i looked at the #'s not to impressive)... LoL... that's a lot of questions, sorry, new to the scene though i am 23... also, do i have the hd version of the tranny???

Rebuild?? A 3800? lol, no way!! There's a guy running 11's on a 233,000+ mile bottom end, you have a ways to go with yours.

That there looks like a nice mod list, should return some impressive numbers... (i totally stole your list....muhuhhahaah!! j/k) If i were to give a time i'm assuming this... 1.9 60' (not bad but not good) car is tuned very well, you don't stroke it, and you get a cam instead of rockers 12.6@108.7, if you get rockers instead of a cam, 13.1@105.7... just random numbers of the top of the old noggin.

There are so many good intakes, but if you run an i/c just an open cone intake with an opening as big if not bigger than the n* would be good. I'm sure someone will pop in here and suggest a good one.

wrx's aren't really that fast, they just have that killer awd launch, stock vs stock if you get a good launch and he doesn't you'll beat him but you never know, all cars are different lol, my car is modded so it's not fair but i raced my friends brand new (2004 new to him lol) wrx with just an exhaust, and just to keep right next to him i had to use a little over 1/4 throttle maybe getting 3-4lbs of boost lol, if i would have tried it wouldn't have been a race. Needless to say after his ranting about how good it will keep up with my car he looked like --> hehe

Yes you do have the hd version, IIRC (if i recall correctly) all gtp's have the hd trans. It's definitely not going to like the power level you want though lol, but it should hold for a little while.

so, 3800's are that dependable... that's good... LoL, cause i don't drive much... so it won't be getting many miles a day... I was thinking so cause it wasn't taking care of b4 i... i'll probably put a total of 3000-4000 miles/yr...

So a cam is better than rockers... so do one or the other, not both???

should i keep my 17's (alloy 04 gtx rims)... i want some 18's... hopefully i can get em' want lose to much pwr though...

I can't wait til i get my car being able to do a task so effortlessly... that time is coming though... I'm not in no hurry... Patience will be a virture...

Do any of you guys know where a good shop in the Dallas area???

Thanks 12.99 for the reply... LoL, all the ppl came and nobody want to share wisdom... LoL, maybe their newbs like me... dunno...

Cams will make more power than rockers, but rockers are easier to do, and the car still sounds stock, there +/- on both. Its honestly opinion based, kinda like turbo's and superchargers, which are better.... It will always go back and forth. You can do rockers with a cam, but that's where it will get confusing. You can run 1.7's (stock is 1.6) with an s1x cam but some places say the 1.7's don't make any more power anyways so... that would take forever to explain all the different combination's. I have no idea about shops in Dallas, but I think there might be some guys on here that are from that area?? You welcome for the help, that's why I'm here!
