300 Whp

Just want to know 300 to the wheel how can I get that and still be efficient? Would going to the higher compression pistons with M90 better? Would I need to beef up the tanny to hold that much. Who does most of you guys enigne builds?

It depends first on which of your cars you are referring to the GTP or GT. I assume you mean the GTP because you said M90 (in which case I'm out because mine is N/A). Either way though you would need to beef up the transmission, especially if you plan on racing it or drive it hard.

Trans won't last too long at that power level. Mine lasted about 4K miles. You'll need at least a rebuild and added upgraded drive chain and input shaft.

For the power, you'll have to build the setup with a cam or intercooler at least.

300whp is a big step when you consider the added exhaust, trans and fueling costs to support it.

How much is a stock GTP putting at the wheels? Basically I want to get what the new GXP's is getting but out of a 3800. How can I do that or do I have to run a cam?

All of our cars are different, IIRC they put about 190 WHP stock give or take some HP. You dont necessarily need a cam. Many guys have 300 WHP with 1.9 Rockers and an intercooler. Either way it costs quite a bit to get there. I have rockers, headers, intake, exhaust, ported TB, Overkill PCM. With a 3.3 pulley I only dynoed like 253 WHP or so, and now I am doing a cam. Most cars with M90 have to run pretty small pulley for 300 WHP sub 3.0 at least, The tune is most important when you get to that level, and it takes a lot of mods to run that small of a pulley.

I was reading online about the concept GP GTX for 1997, they say it was putting out 300 hp on just 8 lbs of boost and a intercooler. how you think they did that? Higher compression maybe?
