Post HELP, Modding in the Chicagoland Area

Whats up guys I need some serious help with my modding as far as setups, i use my car as a DD but i do have my old 5th Gen still. I just need to be able to command respect from a few V8's out here and Im starting it all off on a budget, but what I really need to know, do I save 5 grand for a Intercooled turbo setup, or do I go piece by piece until i obtain my goal of low to mid 12's I'm pretty good with 6 ASE's and im a store manager at Advance Auto I just dont have GOB's of cash laying around YET. But I really just need some directional help Thanx.

Well to answer your turbo question right away... If you go turbo and inter-cooled the price isn't going to be 5,000 lol, its going to be like 8,000. I'm still assuming you are running a stock trans right? Well that poor little guy will only stand up to a turbo a couple times before its toast so thats pretty much a must when going turbo lol, but either way anything faster that 13.5 is really hard on the trans so you would need one anyways. Where in the south suburbs are you located, I'm in Oswego maybe 2 min. away from Aurora, maybe we can meet up this weekend and you can take a look at my car which with my new trans and the slicks i just bough should run low 12's for sure maybe even touch those high 11's i'm hoping for. You can see the mods i have and go from there ya know? I've probably spend about the same as a turbo kit, but I don't know what is more fun adding a part and then testing or adding one big power adder and go fast for sure... I don't know... Turbo's definitely going to go faster, but all the other stuff is fun to take the car apart, then put it back together, then take it back apart, thats how i like it imo haha, but i would definitely be in the high 11's with a turbo haha.

12.99 when you getting the trans put in? To get back to the post I would definetly say take a look at 12.99 car b/c he is running some amazing times w/ his current setup. I have similar mods and I am no where near as fast as his car. I lack headers, TB, and some other tid bits. Have you taken a look at Intense's Stage 3 kit? I think that is a pretty good bang for the buck and will give you a good base to start at. As well I am not sure how the kit will work w/ the Gen V. If this doesnt help call Sinister Drag Designs and tell them what you want and they can help you out.

Trans hopefully goes in at the end of next week! I can't wait!!! And yes, i totally forgot about sinister, they are the chicagoland guys to talk to about mods, and their installation labor is friggin' cheap-tacular. They'll get you want you need for some 12 sec passes.

Im familar with the area my son lives in Aurora but I have to work through the weekend although I have a meeting in Woodridge Tues and would be willing to meet you somewhere then. Also even though my car is a 05 I still have the Gen III blower with the typical TB.
