New-to-me Buick
Hey, all! About 6 months ago I got a 1999 Buick LeSabre with ultra-low (currently at 44k) miles on it. I've done the basic tuneup (plugs, wires, PCV, air filter), made sure the Dex-Cool was out, gutted the airbox, and installed a 180* thermostat. Haven't done the fuel filter yet because the line is quite rusty.
I need this car to be a dependable DD, so nothing too crazy/expensive. However , a few tweaks wouldn't be out of line. Looking forward to hearing about people's crazy projects, and picking up a few cheap things for my car!

Welcome David! I'm sure you'll find a few helpful hints for your LeSabre. You may look into an Intense tuned PCM for your vehicle. It'll help wake the car up. Maybe replacing the stock air filter with a K&N high flow filter. Oh, and don't forget the cabin air filter.

Hey,
I have a 1997 LeSabre with a few mods on it What is cheap for you? Most things are going to cost $100-$300 that really add power past what you have already done. You could get a flowmaster muffler from ebay relatively cheap and install it. A PCM tune isn't a bad idea either. I have other mods in my signature and on my cardomain page.

Cheap as in $100 or less. I'm a big fan of doing my own work, and of doing things right the first time. That being said, I'll gladly pay to get work done right so it does not have to be redone.
I had a pretty bad experience with exhaust on another car, so I'm going to leave well enough alone for the exhaust. For the intake, I'm already committed with the EaA. A tranny cooler and a PCM are two mods I've had my eye on, since I've heard horror stories about the 4T60 and variants when too much heat is applied.

Darn, that sounds tempting! A bit out of my price range, though. All I want out of this car is a daily driver that's reliable and kept in excellent running order. No time to wrench aside from maintenance, and the fiancee would give me the cold shoulder for even eyeing mods like those! Well, maybe not a ported LIM when I do the gaskets...

Agreed it would be a heck of a sleeper. I just don't have the money to put into a blown car right now. Or the time to diagnose problems with it when something breaks. If I did a blower, I'd look into getting a whole L67 engine with the HD transmission before putting on a blower to an engine/transmission designed for N/A. Or get a GTP, SSEi, or Park Ave. Ultra at that point.
