Some general Q's

Hey guys,
New to the site but a long time fan of the 3800 engine. I own 2 Buick Lesabre T-types (if you dont know what they are, dont worry, most dont, but you can check out www.lesabret.com). Anyway the Lesabre T-types came with the either vin 3 3.8 in 87 or the more popular vin c 3800 in 88 and 89. Both of my cars have the 3800 and run great, but I crave more power. There are a few memebers of lesabret.com that have done a L67 swap, most leave it stock or just a couple bolt ons. Myself, I want to make a mid to low 12 sec car. the motor swaps in very easily and the front suspension and brake set up is also swapped over easily. I plan on doing this in the (hopeful) near future. I have done an ok amount of research on the 3800 performance field, but it seems to advance pretty quickly these days. I was thinking about doing a turbo kit to stay true to the Turbo regals of that era but have heard mixed reviews. To get to my target HP or 1.4 time what would you guys suggest. Also if anyone knows where I can pick up a motor, tranny, computer, wiring harness, and front brake/suspension set-up in the round about area of St.Louis please let me know. a wrecked car is prefered. Also are there any sites, or articles on this site that would really bring me up to speed on these awsome engines?

Thanks,

-Lee

Welcome Lee,

I'd think turbo would be your lowest cost route to that type of time/speed. As for parts.. Ed Morad always has what we need. Check his link to the left of the screen under sponsors. Give them a call, tell them where you heard about them and it's all good from there. Next thing you know.. there'll be a pallet or two of stuff at a local shipping dock with your name on it.
