Lack of Acceleration
Hi,
I hope someone here can give me some ideas to what my problem is...I own a 2000 Grand Prix GTP, 200K and still running good, except for this prob. At a cold start I have full power, s/c kicks in and all is good, but soon after, when temp raises, well things go downhill from there, the car will chug and lose all power, s/c not kicking in, engine just clogs up and drives like a shi?tbox...I have done the plugs, wires, ignition coils, ect. Im guessing since I get full power at cold start and all works well, then it must be HEAT related, but what?
I hope someone has an answer to this mystery, Thanx all...
Possibly computer pulling timing and or dumping boost? Do you have a boost gauge, does it fluctuate when this happens? Can you scan for KR at all?

My car does the same thing except I don't have a supercharger. So I can feel it even more. I've been trying to figure out what it is, and if it is pulling timing, why?!

You definately going to have to scan. You'll know otherwise from there. And Viperman, why dont you check your boost selenoid for out-of-adjustments. Working on an 05' GTP recently, he did have strange issues with boosting. He did mention to me that it ran great during open loop, but just dieds during closed loop. Scanning did clue me in some, but after a closer look at the engine bay, his selenoid was missing a screw and the bracket was loose. Sometimes the most simplest answers are right in front of us. Check the obvious, check your last work on your car before this started to happen, check and test selenoid and scan open/closed loop for viable conditions contributing.

Hhm you're right I should scan. The only problem is, my car is one of those "transition" cars. It has OBDI with a OBDII connector. Would a regular scan tool show KR since my computer is older??
