High KR

My car has high KR and I was told that this is the place to find help. Here's where i'm at. It started with 9 degrees of KR so we changed the plugs to AL 104's got KR down to 7 so then we change the front header to a power log and got the KR down to 4ish. So any suggestions of what to try next?

i find it very weird that you have kr like that on a gt...? Have you tried scanning for afr's to see if you are running lean? What kind of timing are you commanding? That's the first two places i would start. If you need more mods to get rid of it then i would suggest rockers? Those should kill 4kr, but first things first is finding out why its doing it in the first place.

I have been helping him try to get rid of this and short of a dynotune I'm not sure what to do. The colder plugs killed a few dgrees like he said but he still had part throttle knock and WOT knock. Then we got rid of the fromt manifold in favor of a plog and that did get rid of the part throttle knick, from what I can remember, but he still averages 4* and up to 6* the higher the RPMs.

This isn't the first GT I have heard of with high knock. Dayday's wife's GT gets up to 11* IIRC at cruise!

I'm wondering if a set of 1.9s and an HV3 is in his future here. His eventual goal is turbo and these are at least good compliments to that so it wouldn't really just be a band-aid.

Do you still have the U bend? I agree that you should scan for lean condition.

Okay just switched over to the factor pcm and still does the same. Some of the things that i noticed is that i had no KR when the engine was cold. after about 160 degrees i started seeing KR around 4 ish. Also noticed that after 4k rpm is when i noticed KR. the average was about 4KR. here are the temps of everything when i did this.

Air intake 84
water 186
trans 88

any suggestions? I was told to try an HV3 then rockers, but holding off of those since i would like to get turbo this winter.
