Need Help, Gas Smell

When I start the car it sounds like its just puttering almost like its not getting enough fuel. I also notice that there is a strong gas smell. What could this be? Fuel problems?

Were you working on it or changing anything just before the problem began, or did it just start out of nowhere? It may just be running rich from a vac issue or something.

Being as your car is an 04 I can't imagine rusted fuel lines even being an issue. So I would get a friend and cycle the key on/off to run the fuel pump (while the motor is cold) and I would start looking at every connection in the fuel system for leaks.

If the smell is that strong it should be pretty easy to find.
On the motor look closely for injectors leaking around the seat on the fuel rail, work your way back toward the fuel tank.

light a torch. and follow the fuel lines from the engine to the tank, if you hear an explosion you found the leak.....

Sorry guys I should have probably elaborated. Its actually my brothers car a 97 Grand Prix GT, we bought it used. One of the upper motor mounts is missing so I ordered some poly mounts. As of now only one upper mount is on. Early today when we started the car it was running fine. When I came home from work and started the car the SES light came on along w/ the low coolant light. It idles fine but it just doesnt sound normal.

I figured out the problem, today when I was messing w/ the motor motor I had removed 2 of the spark plug wires, I switched the wires back and now its running normal. Thanks!
