S1 NA cam etc..Won't idle

The story:

Local with 03 Impala NA 3.8 wants to do a cam. He goes a little overboard gets S1 NA cam, 4000 stall TC, HV3, SLP headers, INTENSE S1 PCM. We pull the motor and drop it all on, in the process timing is off between cam and crank. Motor turns over on the engine stand by hand w/o plugs in it. No noise, cranked with start, no noise.

Determined timing was off, pulled timing cover and fixed it up. JP timing set is now confirmed all lined up at the 0's and dots. Car now starts and runs, won't stay idling. Held it around 800rpm while scan looked good and gently let it sit down to 5-600 and it stayed barely idling on it's own.

Thinking that maybe it kissed valves, I pulled one plug at a time and did the lazyman compression test. All cylinders tested at least 150psi or better with a couple cranks.

Thinking that I probably need to run it more than 5 minutes to learn idle, but am sick...feel like crap and prefer sleep at the moment.

Please toss your ideas, thoughts and experiences at me.
Thanks

2 silly questions:
1. Did you do a case learn?
2. Kind of off-topic, but why did he get a 4000stall on a NA car?

Something needs to be pointing at 1 o'clock. Lol. I can't remember what it is. There are markings on the crank and cam pullies that line up and then another mark at 1:00. What kind of vacuum are you seeing at idle? I would adjust spark on the fly with the vcm control feature of the scanner and see where you can get the car to pull the most vacuum.

Did a couple quick scans last night. Unfortunately I don't have this bin unlocked on HPT at the moment. MAP looked at about 50kpa which should be decent vacuum. There are a bunch of variables I'm working to track down.

TB was cleaned, maybe the IAC is unhappy.
Getting some small intermittent misfires, need another set of plugs. This set was taken out 5-10 times the other day.
Battery had finally tanked and has been on a 2amp trickle charge all night.
The O2 amazingly seems to be working on the extended wiring that I soldered. Owner of car didn't know he'd need an extender.

Keep the ideas coming and I'll be running through things and ruling them out.

Thanks for the ideas

I'm with the guy who suggested a CASE learn. Can you do that with HPT even without an unlocked .bin?
