What would it take?
Well, I'm trying to get a list going of mods to do over the next two years, and I wanted some advice from guys who know what they're talking about (unlike me ). Right now all I have is an Intense PCM (and a gutted air box, but does that even count? ) I wanna get into the mid 14s N/A. With the list I have going right now, I'm pretty sure I can get into there, but I wanted to know for sure...
(in order)
2 1/2" downpipe w/ hi flow cat and u-bend delete
FWI
ported LIM/TB
HV3
ER Rockers or 1.9 rockers (not sure)
LS6 springs
Headers of some sort...
ATI 3000-rpm stall converter
shift kit
Meziere Water Pump
That's all I have for right now, what do you guys think? When I'm done I'll probably get an Intense dyno tune. I'm open to any suggestions, but the only thing I won't do are heads... An S1X isn't out of the question, though...
Thanks

-ported LIM (I don't think a ported L36 TB is nesscary) This could be easily done for the cost of gaskets in an afternoon; pretty much the best bang for the buck on the this list.
-2 1/2" downpipe w/ hi flow cat and u-bend delete
-Fenderwell Intake
-Trim your own UIM runners like a few on BC did (could be done while doing the LIM)
-Cam w/ springs(forget rockers) + ATI 3250-rpm stall converter
-shift kit
-Meziere Water Pump
-Headers of some sort...

Mid 14s could be had in a W body with a GT1, 105/90# springs, headers, HV3, a good tune, and a stock stall.

yeah, I'm gonna do the UIM and LIM mods this summer up at Oregon (hopefully...)
So, my questions are...
Cam wise, ZZP GT1 vs. Intense S1X for NA motors, who has the advantage?
Also, headers... If I'm not mistaken, aren't most headers 3"? Would I loose tq even with the 2.5 downpipe? Ok, so what headers would you all recommend? I'm building a pretty kickass list here
Oh yeah, and is it true that you can swap cams through the wheel well without removing the engine?
Thanks guys

GT1 hands down. The powerband is very broad compared to the Intense cams. Lots of area under the curve and it can dyno as high as 233whp.
Many got deep into the 14s with that cam and stock stall on CGP over the years. I haven't seen that consistantly with the Intense cams.
S&S headers have a 2.5" DP and are more suited for n/a setups.
Cam swaps can be done through the wheel well. You just have to drop the engine cradle on the one side. Becareful not to drop it too much or the steering shaft will come out. That can be difficult to re-align on the way back out.
