Is my Fuel Pump is DEAD ????

Caution it is a long story but i try to give as much detailed as possible

OK it all started whit an EGR problem...i got an exhaust leak under the hood will i was driving the car...after looking aroud , i found that the EGR valve was broken in 2 pieces because off the rust...

Igot a new EGR valve and a new gasket.. clean everything, instaled and torqued them IAW the mechanic manual..

After that i started the car..it idled very ruffly and when i give it some trothle it just cut and slow down until it die..sounding like it was out off timming (pouff, pouff, Tshiiii...)
I was told that it should be a vacumm leak but i re-check everything ..and dint see any leak...i have absolutly no check engine light...

I have removed the trothle body and clean it very good of all the carbone deposit...and inside the intake plenum as far as i can...

so i have air... i have spark cause it start good but die as soon as i give it gaz...

So my guess is the fuel...i checked the fuel rail and it spit fuel...i will have to get a fuel pressure gauge to check the pressure... what is the best way to make sure the pump is working right?

sorry if it was a long story but i try to give plenty of info

My monte carlo did the exact same thing when the fuel pump went on it. it was just out of the blue also. I was on polaris Parkway i pulled into the strabucks for some coffie then i when in to best buy i came out and started the car but when i gave it any gas it just died i did that several times it woud run in idle real rough then if i gave it any gas it would sputter then die. I though maybe i was out of gas the fuel guage was a little screwy so I put in about 3 gallons and still the same thing. I left my car there for in that lot for almost 2 weeks the parking lot is owned by a private company and they don't care how long I left my car there so I was not worried about it getting towed and remember this was at polaris in the best buy parking lot and its not like anyone could steal it what are going to do idle it down the road plus i had no power steering man i shoulda left it un-locked with the keys in it I wouldn't have mattered. Then I got my fuel pump then I did the swap right there in front of god and eveybody. Which consisted of me dropping the fuel tank, which was still pretty full and heavy, pulling out the old fuel pump and doing the switch then i got in and after she turned over once or twice she fired right up I drove it around to make sure everything was ok and never had a problem with it after that. Well not until a drunk driver hit it and knocked my mirror off. but thats another story. So good luck.

I would start with checking for a vac leak since it started after the egr replacement. Spray it down with some brake clean to help you check. Especially where the egr goes into the intake. Then I would get a fuel pressure gauge and see how it looks. I'm sure you will find your issue's by doing this.
