ok guys i think i have a good one for ya i got a 00 monte SS w/76,000 on it and today i put my SLP cold air intake in and im driving around and i hear this humming noise just going straight no grinding when turning doesnt pull at all coasts good but at normal cruise it humms almost like when ya put a card in the spokes of a bicycle not extremely loud its just there, tranny fluid is up and pink everything else is great no slop in the wheel or anything its all tight, my diagnosis i think is a hub bearing i just dont know which one does this sound like the problem? it is driving me nuts

Open the hood, put your ear by the air filter, and rev it up just a little bit. Is that the sound you were hearing?
Aftermarket intakes usually make noise.

DITTO. don't worry about it too much. i just had my car at the mechanic for the same reason. they couldn't find anything wrong woth the wheel bearing, cv joints, etc. etc. probably the intake making the noise.
I bet you it is the wheel bearing, just went thru this last week and I described it just like you did.I got lucky , I picked the right one , drivers side. It is hard to tell which side it is humming from. They are expensive so you dont want to be wrong, easy to install though

I would try some low-speed turns (20-35 mph) in both directions to try and determine if it's the bearing, and which side. If it makes more noise while turning left, then the passenger side bearing is the culprit. If it makes more noise when turning right, then the driver side bearing is to blame.
To rule out the intake, you can try swapping back to stock to see if the noise is still there.
I just sat on both sides , take it for a drive , then get someone else to drive while you sit in paassenger seat.I could tell it was more of a driver side noise.Mine would cut on on both left and right turns.
thats whats making this so hard it doesnt grind or anything when i turn so i dont think its the bearings im KINDA convinced its the air box cause thats the only thing ive changed in the past couple days what do u think?

Put the stock airbox back in and tell us what happens. When the bearings go out like mine did last month, they didn't make any noise while turning either.
