Expertice NEEDED on Engine problem!!!! Mechanics cant even figure out what is wrong!
I will try and describe this the best that i can. I am not very mechanically inclined, although i am improving. Recently my 1997 GTP has been having very odd problems. When i start my car, i hear a loud clunking sound and then a clicking until i begin to drive the car, the noises are only during ignition and idle. I believe that is the couple in the supercharger. The car has 103,000 miles, so i think it should have the SC oil changed and the bearings, coupler, and belt replaced. Should that fix that sound?
The other problem i have is the most serious. I have had the car at the shop for a week and the mechanics cannot even figure out what is wrong with my car. The car will run and be fine, then suddenly the car will sounds like it is going to die as if it were to run out of gas, but then if you let it run without giving it gas it will sound better. It is almost like the car is running out of gas or as if the battery were dying, but all the electronics were checked and the fuel pump was checked and they came out perfect. Has anybody else had the same problem? I will update tommorow with a more detailed description of the problem. Thanks

You can remove the supercharger belt and run the car without it. If the clunking and clicking go away then you know it is the supercharger or one of its pulleys.

Update on Engine
I have more information about my problem. Now the car just dies right away. I thought it was maybe a fuel pump or maybe the battery was dead, but both are fine and i have no idea what it could be. Are there any problems with injectors or anything? Does anybody have advice, or has anybody had the same problem? Also, i have another question. Where can i find the recalls on my car, 1997 GTP?

First off... are you getting any DTC's to work from... If so, what are they... What is your fuel pressure at start, idle, and when dying... If it is any given injector it will show a missfire on that cylinder and you will still have good pressure... Check your spark... etc...etc... If it were a fuel pump wireing issue you will still see a decline in pressure so do a fuel pressure test. Update me
