What's wrong with my car?

OK, a few months back my fuel pump went out (or so I thought). My car would stumble and die at random times and not rev much past 4K. So I replaced the fuel pump and also did the re-wire, all has been good for the past prolly 2-3 months. Then Friday, I went to pass a car and the same thing...it was like there was a rev limiter at 4K...would do nothing past it. The car would run fine as long as I wasn't in the throttle. So I went into wal-mart and came back out, and my SES light came on...then on a hill the car stummbled REALLY bad but never died. Could my Fuel filter be the problem? I'm getting it changed today but I was wanting to know if there were any other culprits for this problem. I have the Interceptor guage and the SES code was "o2 sensor reading too lean for conditions on bank 1" (Code was 0131) What else could this be?

Another thing, (pretty much the only problem as of now) is that it hesisates badly at higher RPM's...like I can feel it shudder and be reluctant to rev on out. Ring any bells to you all?

I had a problem with a car about a year ago that had the almost the same problem. It would actually happen when the car would see boost around 4k rpm. It ended up being an ignition problem. I put a ICM and coil packs and the problem was gone. You may want to check plugs a wires also.

How old is your front oxygen sensor? Might be time for a new one.

As with Tim, i had a similar problem and one of the culprits was a rusted coil pack terminal. And did you install a sock the your walbro because i origionally installed mine without the sock on the pump itself, and it had the same problems.

Yes, I did use the sock on the pump. I had orginally thought the problem was a fueling issue, but you guys think it would be spark related? I was told when I bought the car (10k mi ago) that the plugs and wires had just been changed with AL 104's. What would you recommend changing the plugs and wires to? Stock best or move up to something else? Also, would it be worth while to change the coils to MSD's or are the stockers, again, better? Kinda off topic here, but I had been tossing around the idea of adding an AFC, would it be worth while for me or would it be a waste of time and money?

MSD coils were a waste of money. I went back to stock coils.

Well, today I changed all three coils, added new plug wires, and put in new 104's gapped at .050". The hesitation seems to be gone! I do still have my darn WOT KR though, but most all of the low RPM/mid boost KR is gone. I'm wanting to get the 3" DP put on as well as an AFC to fight this KR. Right now I'm seeing right around 8º of KR at WOT.
