Took my car to the tranny shop....
They told me that its an internal problem so they have to take it apart. He said that there is no hydraulic pressure in the trans. Anyone have an idea on what failed? Maybe a solenoid or pump? Thanks
There is a pressure switch in our tranny's p/n 24223197 list 59.43
hope this helps
the correct termonology is ( a/trans fluid pressure man valve position switch)

i had my valve body pretty well destroyed by a failed trans, what the guys at the shop i went to did was put the vales for a trans off and LS1 in my trans and now i have better shifts than ever, even with the swap i did

Thanks guys. I'm just waiting on them to call me back with the exact problem. I did install a shift kit about 20k miles ago so hopefully it wasn't the valve body that went out. I just want to get peoples input because the labor to disassemble the trans. Is $800. They will waive it if I have them fix it though.

took my car to the tranny shop... *update*
Ok I got some results back from the tranny shop. This is what they told me:
Inside of the tranny was fried. Clutches were burnt and valve body was trashed. So they recommend rebuit valve body, overhaul kit with heavy duty Raybestos cutches, new solenoids, torque converter which I requested a heavy duty T.C. With a higher stall. There was one other thing that I can't remember. $3200 including labor and a warranty. What do you guys think?
You can get a bench built, performance trans with all the fixins' for less. Zoomer sells one for less than the trans house is doing your rebuild for. Almost half that with a nice warranty. His tranny has lots of options and ZZP does his trannys with performance in mind. I've only heard good things about his trannys.
EDIT: didn't see, on my initial post, you live in CA. Might not be real practical to make a purchse of that size from the midwest. Wouldn't hurt to contact him though before you pay that whoopin' price they are quoting you.

I actually did price the tranny from ZZP and other places and this is far cheaper. When I priced out the ZZP tranny with shipping and labor it came out to about $4k. The best price I actually got was $2999 from www.modbug.com but then I still have to pay for shipping and installation.
i paid about 2900 for the same thing. somehow they said that he drilled the valve bodies to use the valves from the trans that comes on LS1s and after that i have had the best shifting, even with my swap.
