Stab throttle, car wants to die
1999 Oldsmobile Eighty Eight LS is the car.
So, either at neutral or when the car is in drive, when I stab the throttle, it feels like the car wants to die, but it doesn't.
I plugged up PCMSCAN on my laptop, and monitored the spark advance.
When I stab the throttle when the car is sitting parked, the spark advance goes negative, and the car sputters, then kicks back up. I logged all of this, including all the sensors the software was capable of logging (which is basically all regular OBD-II sensors).
What does this mean? Is the spark advance supposed to go negative when I stab the throttle like this? Does this mean the wires, the spark plugs, or the ignition coils are going bad?
I appreciate the input. Thanks!
