Whats wrong with my new engine

Car still smokes (white/blue) at start up and WOT
How long does this gapless rings take to seal?
I have 600 to 700 miles already! I`m gonna have a leak and compression test next week to see whats the deal here.
I dont think this is good at all
Luis.

Blue smoke on startup and WOT sounds like valve guide seals.

Here are some general rules of thumb for you:

white smoke = burning water or coolant (condensation, head gaskets, etc.)

blue smoke = burning oil (valve seals, rings, etc.)

black smoke = burning fuel (too rich)

I think a compression test and coolant system pressure test will give you some more clues...

I know you wanted to know my symptoms to my cracked heads.....Basically the first thing I noticed was that on the highway when I tried to accelerate the engine would bog down and start to rumble really bad. I thought at first I was just having that WOT lag that happens to our cars, but Then the car started to hesitate through the city, like when I tried to take off from a stand still it would bog down and rumble a little bit. Some mechanic that works For Area Ambulance here in Cedar Rapids told me it might be the Torque converter (I thought differently) so I took it to a Tranny specialist and they took it for a drive and said the tranny was just fine. After that the car acted like it dropped a few cylinders (If you have ever had a spark plug wire pop off you know what I mean) I took it straight over to the auto shop. First thing they did was took out the spark plugs and check them. On cylinder #1 the spark plug was completely melted, the electrode was gone. Then they did a compression test and there was none. First instinct says chipped piston, but they ripped the heads off and found a hole burnt straight through one of the exhaust valves. Then they shipped the heads off to their machine shop to rebuild the head, then they found the one inch crack right between the valve seats, and actually they found cracks between the other valve seats also, just not as bad as the one between cylinder #1 valve seats. They said the car was probably blowing off white smoke, but I couldn't tell since it's the middle of winter out. Hopefully you just have a minor problem and a quick fix.

Nick

Talking I got Good news!

Well, today I took a trip to Dynotech to finally get a leakdown and compression test done to verify the condition on my newly rebuild engine.

All checked out fine. Compression and leakdown with 3% to 5% of each piston.
I could not be any happier. Turns out the valve seals are the culprit and oil burning dilema. Thank God!!

And while Justin was doin this work on my car, Me and Eric went for a joy ride on his stage 2 intercooled Turbo GSX (me driving ) and let me put it in one word; INSANE!!! with only 18bls (i think?) of boost with street radials anything under 50mph would just spin the tires with ease. What a treat that was. The only problem was that my car feel so slow after that experience....lol.
I`m just glad my baby its ok.
Later...
Lou.

Glad you found the problem and got it fixed.
