I'm goin to start this by telling you my goals for this car. I am building it up for a well rounded street car with that WOW! Factor.
I have already adapted the brakes from the 06 GP GXP which gives me 12.7" front and 12" rear rotors with dual piston aluminum calipers. I run 18x9s with BFG G-Force T/A KDW2s all year because of the brakes, slicks are not an option for me.
As far as the suspension goes, it is heavy and almost completely built. I'm running SLP/Eibach springs and soon will have the adjustible KYB AGXs. Front/Rear Speedbuilt swaybars, strut tower bars, and diagnial braces...done. I just picked up UMI trailing arms and soon to have BMR laterial arms. I like to drive it like I stole it and I want to auto-x REAL bad!
Now for the goods. I just installed the WOW! Factor!! Atop my engine sits a intercooled MP112! It's mated with a LS1 TB and LQ4 MAF. It has an ATI Balancer and full 8 rib pulley setup. Because of not having heads or cam I had a custom 3.75" pulley made for the blower which is huge for a MP112. The intercooler utilizes the GM pump and
INTENSE aluminum radiator.
Trans is next on the list cause' mine is totally stock and has 140K+ miles on it. It will be a full setup, minus a LSD, with a 3000 stall and 3.29s.
Heads and cam....I'm in need of help here. What I WANT to do is run a S1X cam and IS3 heads. I have a brand new Rollmaster Singletiming chain and dampener already. Will I benefit from a double Rollmaster at all? What springs should I have on the heads? I know they come with 130lb but its only going to be a S1X with 1.7 Yella Terra RRs. I would think 105s would be perfect but I don't really know. Won't I have to run a double roller with the 130s? Shold I just ditch the 1.7s?
What I'm tryng to avoid is going with a huge cam. I have a IS3 cam already but i think its going to be too aggressive for what I want to do.
Sorry its soo long but your input is appreciated. BTW there is only a 5HP difference between the IS3 cam and the S1X cam in the top HP list.
