EGR Valve, what's that?

Posted 08-21-2008 at 02:22 AM by GAGTP
Updated 08-21-2008 at 02:37 AM by GAGTP
Well as some of you know I removed my EGR valve last week (for strictly off-road purposes of course), and all is well. I simply had the codes removed via Intense-Racing and haven't looked back. It's kinda funny though as I posted a thread on this about a week ago and it seems to have stirred the pot quite a bit. I noticed 1HOT97 disabled his and reduced his part-throttle knock. Now that I have really done all of the brain-storming on this issue it makes perfect sense to do this. All there is to...

P0133 After the Header Install

Posted 08-14-2008 at 12:23 AM by GAGTP
Updated 08-14-2008 at 12:42 AM by GAGTP
Well as some of you may know I recently intalled a set of Pacesetter Ceramic-coated headers. I purchased the ZZP Pro Kit and after reading some info on the hardware's shortcomings (Pacesetter) I decided to take it a step further. Originally I had installed the paper manifold gaskets (along with a thin coat of Ultra-Copper on both sides of the gaskets) that Pacesetter supplied with the hardware with larger flanged grade 8 bolts for the manifolds. I had foreseen the Y-pipe problem and decided to...

Shift changes

Posted 07-29-2008 at 02:14 PM by 1Hot97
Well, I modified the shift tables, time and pressures and it's shifting much better now. Nice firm quick shifts, but not so hard it chirps the tires. On to MAF tuning next.

My next trick...

Posted 07-27-2008 at 12:56 AM by 1Hot97
Ok, I turned off the EGR with the HPtuner, and it actually worked. I dropped almost all the knock I was seeing at part throttle. My next trick is to redo the tranny shift parameters. I have a DHP PCM that I really like the way it shifts, so I'm going to copy the shift tables over to my current PCM. More to come.

The ongoing chase...

Posted 07-24-2008 at 12:07 PM by 1Hot97
Here it is, another beautiful day in downtown Nowhere. I swapped my old DHP1.0 PCM into my Regal in hopes of seeing if the PCM was bad somehow...no such luck. I even did a case learn on it(I'm getting pretty good at doing those now). I was seeing knock pretty much the entire time I have any throttle applied, up until I go over 60 MPH, then it goes away. The LTFT's were pretty wacked on that PCM too, as it was ~-10 or higher most of the time, and I didn't have time to fool with...
