Shift changes

Posted 07-29-2008 at 02:14 PM by 1Hot97
Well, I modified the shift tables, time and pressures and it's shifting much better now. Nice firm quick shifts, but not so hard it chirps the tires. On to MAF tuning next.

My next trick...

Posted 07-27-2008 at 12:56 AM by 1Hot97
Ok, I turned off the EGR with the HPtuner, and it actually worked. I dropped almost all the knock I was seeing at part throttle. My next trick is to redo the tranny shift parameters. I have a DHP PCM that I really like the way it shifts, so I'm going to copy the shift tables over to my current PCM. More to come.

The ongoing chase...

Posted 07-24-2008 at 12:07 PM by 1Hot97
Here it is, another beautiful day in downtown Nowhere. I swapped my old DHP1.0 PCM into my Regal in hopes of seeing if the PCM was bad somehow...no such luck. The LTFT's were pretty wacked on that PCM too, as it was ~-10 or higher most of the time, and I didn't have time to fool with...

Case learn results

Posted 07-20-2008 at 03:27 PM by 1Hot97
Well, the case learn, other than smoothing the idle a bit, didn't do a thing about the part throttle knock. I swapped PCM's and am going to try it again.

First step

Posted 07-17-2008 at 11:36 PM by 1Hot97
Got the HPtuner, and the first thing I did was a case learn. Man, that took a bit of time, I guess I'm too impatient to thoroughly read directions and just jumped into it. If you haven't seen the HP software, there's a begin button, then it tells you to increase RPM's. I tried it about a dozen times, it would either almost immediately tell me the RPM's were too high, or wait till it hit the rev limiter. I finally figured out to quickly let off the throttle once it hit the limiter. Then it doesn't...
